Art studio · antiques and old paintings
About the gallery
Kentavr Art Studio has worked with antique painting and antiques since the 1990s. The gallery is in the historic centre of Moscow, on Khlebny Lane: Russian, Soviet and Western European painting, antique icons, silver, porcelain, bronze, clocks, furniture and Oriental works of art.
We help you choose a piece and build a collection, assist with independent authentication and restoration, and take care of packing and delivery. You are always welcome to come to the gallery and see the pieces in person — always better than a photograph.

Painting of the 19th–20th centuries
Russian · Soviet · Western European
The gallery shows Russian painting of the 19th and early 20th centuries, works of the Soviet period and canvases by Western European masters. Among the Russian artists are Aivazovsky, Dubovskoy, Savrasov, Orlovsky and Schilder.
The Soviet school is represented by Pimenov, Ryazhsky, Romas and Glebov; among the Western European masters are Vilhelm Melbye, Peder Mønsted, Thomas Brooks and others.
Every painting undergoes independent attribution by recognised experts, art historians and leading Moscow museums. Significant pieces already have a written expert report — this is noted on the item page.
Antiques and objects for the interior
19th–20th centuries
The studio's second line is decorative and applied art: furniture in the classical and Art Nouveau styles, wares of the Imperial Porcelain Factory, glass, bronze clocks, lighting and table silver.
A separate part of the collection is given to antique icons and Oriental art. Everyone can find a piece from a favourite period, for an interior or as a gift — from a small desk object to a large salon piece.
Authentication and restoration
Independent expert reports
We assist with independent art-historical examination and with restoration work. The expert report confirms authorship, dating and condition — without one we do not offer significant pieces for sale.
